MookUI_12-13-2006 Compilation date: 12/13/2006 Compliant with World of Warcraft TOC "20000" (patch 2.0.1, "Before the Storm") UI homepage: http://www.themook.net/wow (download, screenshots, forums) ========================================================== Thanks for downloading the MookUI compilation of "World of Warcraft" AddOns! I am not the author of any of these AddOns, and offer a heartfelt thanks to all those who have worked so hard, for no other reason than love of the game, to increase our enjoyment while playing. I hope anyone who finds these AddOns useful will consider supporting the original mod authors, as well as the websites that host their files. The AddOns you have just downloaded are identical to those I have on my home machine. They all work very well together for me, they should do the same for you. If you do have any problems I'll try to help as best I can - I can generally be reached through the forums/blog at: http://www.themook.net At some point in the future I hope to have more extensive documentation, but for now this ReadMe will hopefully get you started. INSTALLATION =========== This compilation contains current versions (as of 12-13-2006) of roughly 70 AddOns, listed below. * * * BEFORE INSTALLING, PLEASE BACKUP/RENAME YOUR "INTERFACE" AND "WTF" FOLDERS * * * In the unlikely event that something goes wrong, or if you simply decide you don't want to use these AddOns, it is much, much easier to restore your original settings than try to recreate them from scratch. All of the folders referred to in this ReadMe are inside your main "World of Warcraft" folder (where you have the game installed). To install the MookUI AddOns, unzip the file "MookUI_12-13-2006.zip" to your hard drive - inside you will find three folders: AddOns - this entire folder goes to your: "C:\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\" folder (or wherever your actual Interface folder is) These are the actual AddOn files. SavedVariables-Account - *inside* here is a folder named 'SavedVariables' - move this 'SavedVariables' folder to your: "C:\Games\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\" folder These are AddOn configuration files - they are not required to use the AddOns, but may help you with the initial setup. SavedVariables-Character - *inside* here is a folder named 'SavedVariables' - move this 'SavedVariables' folder to your: "C:\Games\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\SERVERNAME\CHARACTERNAME\" folder These are AddOn configuration files - they are not required to use the AddOns, but may help you with the initial setup. EXAMPLE: My login name is 'Pikachu', and I play a character named 'Joeblow' on the Medivh server. I want to try out the MookUI AddOns with him, so I download the "MookUI_12-13-2006.zip" file and unzip it to my computer. I move the resulting "AddOns" folder to: "C:\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\" Then I move the 'SavedVariables' folder from inside the 'SavedVariables-Account' folder to: "C:\Games\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\PIKACHU\" And finally, I move the 'SavedVariables' folder from inside the 'SavedVariables-Character' folder to: "C:\Games\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\PIKACHU\Medivh\Joeblow\" CHANGELOG (updated 12-13-2006) ======================= - Included copies of my SavedVariables folders in the download. This was requested by many people, to assist in setting up the AddOns. It is not required that you use these files, they're included only for convenience. - Moved all of the Ace2 libraries to the root AddOns folder instead of their own subfolder, to help streamline the process of keeping them up-to-date. All of the below are Ace2 libraries and should only be removed with caution (as deleting them may cause some AddOns to cease functioning): AbacusLib AnchorsAway Babble-2.2 BanzaiLib CandyBar CompostLib CrayonLib Deformat DewdropLib GloryLib GratuityLib ItemBonusLib JostleLib Metrognome OneStorage PaintChipsLib ParserLib PeriodicTable PeriodicTable-2.0 ProximityLib Quixote RosterLib SpecialEventsEmbed Stitch-1.0 SurfaceLib TabletLib TipLib TouristLib - Added the following AddOns to the MookUI compilation (brief descriptions under "FULL LIST OF ADDONS"): !StopTheSpam CECB_Debuffs CECB_Options CECB_PvEModule CECB_PvPModule CEnemyCastBar CT_MapMod eePanels FuBar_PetInFu FuBar_RogueStunTimerFu GFW_FeedOMatic MasterTradeSkills Notebook Nudge oCB ReagentData RecipeBook SpellDPS SpellTips TrinketMenu XPerl XPerl_Options XPerl_Party XPerl_PartyPet XPerl_Player XPerl_PlayerPet XPerl_RaidAdmin XPerl_RaidFrames XPerl_RaidHelper XPerl_Target XPerl_TargetTarget - Removed the following AddOns from the MookUI compilation: !!!Libs - all Ace2 libraries moved to the root 'AddOns' folder Bongos_MapBar - replaced by 'Squeenix' eCastingBar - replaced by 'oCB' Mendeleev - replaced by 'MasterTradeSkills' Perl_Focus - replaced by 'XPerl' Perl_Party - replaced by 'XPerl_Party' Perl_Player - replaced by 'XPerl_Player' Perl_Player_Pet - replaced by 'XPerl_PlayerPet' Perl_Target - replaced by 'XPerl_Target' Perl_Target_Target - replaced by 'XPerl_TargetTarget' Tinypad - replaced by 'Notebook' KNOWN ISSUES (updated: 12-13-2006) ============================= Bug reports, suggestions, support, F.A.Q. can be found on the MookUI forum at: http://www.themook.net/wowforum - the fontsize on the Hitsmode combat log window doesn't seem to stay persistent/locked FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (updated: 12-13-2006) =========================================== Questions can be posted to the MookUI forum at: http://www.themook.net/wowforum, and may be included in future revisions of this document. Q. What is that squeaky voice saying 'fatality' sometimes? A. This is the notification sound from the 'BugSack' AddOn, telling you that an error message was intercepted and sent to the BugSack. To disable the sound, type "/bs mute" in the chatbox. Q. Can I move/change the action bars? A. Sure can! Type "/bongos" in the chatbox, then uncheck "Lock Bar Positions". This allows you to drag the bars around the screen; you can also right-click any unlocked bar to access more options (like scale, number of buttons, etc.). Q. How do I get that textured gray box I can see in screenshots of the MookUI? A. This is accomplished with the 'Skinner' AddOn - to create that frame type "/skinner bottomframe show" in the chatbox. You can adjust the height of the box by typing "/skinner bottomframe height XXX", where 'XXX' is the height you want the box to be; adjust the width by typing "/skinner bottomframe width XXX", etc. (Just typing "/skinner bottomframe" will show a chatbox list of all options available for the bottom frame). Q. How can I keep just the textured gray box, without having 'Skinner' reskin so many other windows? A. 'Skinner' will allow you to choose what you do and do not want reskinned; in particular, "/skinner char none" and "/skinner npc none" will turn off the reskinning of most character and NPC windows. Q. How do I create the three gold-bordered panels at the bottom of the screen? A. 'eepanels' is the AddOn to use to create panels like this; typing "/eepanels" will bring up a list of commands for creating and customizing your panels. Q. How can I see what I have in my bank without being at the bank? A. The addon 'vBagnon' takes care of this - on the normal Keybindings menu set a key for "Toggle Bank" (under the heading 'Bagnon'). Q. Why can't I get the Bongos action bar to work correctly when I change stances? A. The Bongos action bar will only swap pages correctly if you set the bindings for the action bar through the Bongos interface, not the Blizzard Keybindings menu. To do this, type "/bongos", then click the 'Bindings' tab on the Bongos menu - just hold the cursor over the action button you want to bind and press the key you want to bind it to. Q. Where do I find other AddOns that aren't in the MookUI compilation? A. Here are the main websites that I watch for new and updated AddOns: http://www.wowace.com http://wow.curse-gaming.com http://ui.worldofwar.net/ http://www.wowinterface.com http://www.ctmod.net/ NON-STANDARD ADDONS ==================== I have only needed to make a single modification to any of these AddOns - 'KillMore' was still using the 'string.gfind' function in 'KillMore.lua' ... I changed it to 'string.gmatch' to keep it from throwing an error. All other AddOns are exactly as I downloaded them. FULL LIST OF ADDONS ================== All of the AddOns included in this compilation are listed below.
